Reading the forums for Dungeon Runners, it looks like a lot of players are unhappy about the next patch. In particular, that there will be members-only worlds. People seem pretty pleased That Player-vs-Player will be segregated onto separate worlds, and nobody feels too strongly about displaying the region of each game world (e.g., what continent and country in the real world the servers for the game reside on).
Since most MMOs don't have free players, most MMOs don't have to deal with this problem. Is it a good idea? Is it just encouraging elitism? Will members find the members-only worlds to be a safe haven, or something to lord over free players. In purely financial terms, will it a) not effect (or positively effect) the number of free players coming in, and b) positively effect the number of free players who become paying members? Will it keep members playing longer?

"shortly after the 21st"
By shortly after the 21st, I meant "today." To celebrate, the team is brinking deer - including Mephistopheles, Dogfish Head 120 Minute Imperial IPA, homebrew, and more. Yay. :-)

new build
Dungeon Runners has a new build on the public test server, and it's scheduled to go live on the 21st. Shortly after the 21st, DR will open up to anybody that wants to play: the "refer a friend" system is going away. :-)

w00t
I didn't say much about it when it happened (mostly because I was sick), but last Wednesday billing was turned on for Dungeon Runners.
It's a soft launch, as the game is not entirely open to the public yet[1], but by golly it's a launch. I've now worked on a game from beta through launch. Next goal: work on a game from inception through beta through launch.
1. let me know if you'd like to play, I can send you an invitation.[2]
2. I need an email address for that.
Edit: Obviously, you don't need to be referred to play the game anymore :-)
